About Us

After managing medical practices for many years, and being involved in the Professional Association of Medical Office Management, I had networked with practice managers as well as many physicians. I noticed I was receiving more and more calls, inquiries asking for help with practice management issues, as well as coding, billing and reimbursement questions.

So, one day my husband said to me "you're giving away your knowledge for free; you should be a consultant". After many months of planning and networking with other business people I knew who had started their own consulting businesses, I founded Healthcare Resource Management, Inc in June 1995 to assist physicians, medical managers, coders and billers with the means to manage their practices, while ensuring they are compliant. We do this by accurately documenting, coding and billing the services provided to obtain optimum reimbursement.

Founder/President of a professional health care consulting organization assisting physicians and administrators/managers with the business aspects of managing their organizations, as well as helping coders and billers keep up to date and compliant with Medicare coding and billing regulations. Central Jersey Neurology Associates, P.A. 1993 to 1995

A 3 physician, multiple office neurology practice with diagnostic testing.

Practice Business Administrator

Responsible for the management of practice financial operations, computer system, personnel and marketing reporting directly to the managing physician.

  • Assessed and reorganized front desk, billing department and medical transcription.
  • Improved operations by terminating problem employees, training new personnel to exceptional performance levels, and building a team oriented staff.
  • Developed new office policies and procedures including job descriptions, performance evaluations, salary reviews, work schedules, and medical records documentation.
  • Renegotiated managed care contracts and eliminated 15% withhold fees.

Responsible for developing and managing a new, computerized walk-in medical and diagnostic center reporting directly to the managing physician.

  • Created job descriptions, work schedules and policy manual; hired and trained staff for office operations, computerized billing and appointment scheduling.
  • Implemented ICD-9 and CPT codes and their charges; formatted encounter forms.
  • Marketed the practice by designing and placing media ads.
